Brooke Jaina Schlisner

Throughout the course of my Spring 2024 semester at UGA, my career skills blossomed from a lost beginner to a confident and well-rounded student. I have a real passion for my major and I love to learn something new. My favorite thing about my skillset is the wide range of skills I have developed. I have learned how to report on various different events from a university festival to a mayor’s conference, and I am now knowledgeable in AP Style for reporting-style writing. I have learned important field skills such as navigating and creating with Photoshop and InDesign, and I have a better understanding of designing successful and aesthetically pleasing graphics. I have a basic understanding of HTML and CSS, as well as a CSS framework (Bootstrap) and website development software (WordPress and Wix). These skills have shaped my current success by equipping me with the tools needed to excel in my coursework and my future career in public relations. They have also prepared me for future opportunities in journalism, design, and digital media, allowing me to adapt to the broad landscape of the public relations industry.
